Brenna Nurse was jointly charged along with Nicholas Hercules called ‘Bucko’, Devon Harry and Peter Lam at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Alisha George.

They were not required to enter a plea to the charge of murdering McPherson on August 15, 2021, at ‘C’ Field, Sophia. Magistrate George remanded the defendants to prison until September 17.

McPherson, formerly of ‘D’ Field Sophia, was found dead in a yard at ‘C’ Field, Sophia with gunshot wounds to his left side chest and another on his right hand around 04:00 hrs on the day in question.

Police said an unknown woman telephoned the police command center and reported that she saw a body lying motionless in a yard at ‘C’ Field, Sophia. It was reported that the man appeared to have blood on his skin.

According to reports, Nurse is the mother-in-law of McPherson while the three co-accused are said to be friends of her son. On August 14, McPherson was allegedly involved in an altercation with the woman and her co-accused during which he was beaten.

McPherson, however, managed to escape and went home. At almost midnight, he received a phone call from a woman and left his home.

He was found dead hours later.
