207 new COVID cases, 23 in ICU & another death recorded

A 58-year-old man from Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica) is Guyana’s latest COVID-19 death, according to the Ministry of Health.

With this additional death, Guyana’s COVID-19 death toll has moved to 602 with 55 of those deaths recorded in this month alone. Meanwhile, another 207 individuals were infected taking Guyana’s total infections to 24,713 since March 2020.

These new infections were recorded in: Region One (two new cases), Region Two (20 cases), Region Three (31 cases), Region Four (119 cases), Region Five (four cases), Region Seven (seven cases), Region Nine (19 cases) and Region 10 (five cases).

There are 23 people in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 108 people are in institutional isolation, 1,465 people are in home isolation and five people are in institutional quarantine.

Another 53 people who were infected with COVID-19 have now recovered; in total, 22,515 people have recovered in total.
