Lucozade Guyana has formed a partnership with promising Guyanese pace bowler, Nial Smith, by signing him for six months. The popular energy drink brand made the announcement on Wednesday via their official Facebook page.
They stated that Smith is a budding pace bowler who had a solid 2020 season with the Guyana Jaguars and is one of the cricketers to watch currently. He is part of the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad preparing for the Caribbean Premier League which starts Thursday in St. Kitts and Nevis.
It is understood that Smith and Lucozade came to the contractual agreement recently and the Brand Manager of the energy drink, Triston Freeman, described the signing as “noteworthy” for the brand.
Smith noted that it was a “lifelong” dream to work with the Lucozade brand and highlighted that he hopes for a long and successful relationship with the company.
ANSA McAL Trading Limited – the distributors of the energy drink – have also signed other Guyanese athletes through Carib Brewery: Table Tennis player Chelsea Edghill (Smalta), West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd (Ginseng Up), and Track and Field athlete Emmanuel Archibald (Malta Carib).
