Texila American University to host annual career day-open house

Prospective students will have the chance to learn more about various degree programs and career-building opportunities available at Texila American University (TAU) Guyana at its Annual Career Day and Open House.

The event will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the TAU campus located at Lot 24-42, Plantation Providence, East Bank Demerara. Participants will also have the option of joining the event virtually.

For the past five (5) years, TAU’s Career Day-Open House has been one of its most significant annual events. The Career Day has functioned as a forum where current and prospective students can interact with TAU faculty and alumni, career guidance experts, and potential employers operating in a broad cross-section of sectors.

This year, TAU has curated a series of activities for its Career Day-Open House which will provide attendees with individualized career coaching and extensive information on TAU’s program offerings.

What To Expect 

Explore TAU’s Campus – Whether attendees join the event physically or virtually, they will be able to tour Texila’s state-of-the-art “green” campus. TAU’s facility boasts modern infrastructure and cutting-edge technology, and attendees will have the opportunity to explore the campus, including study spaces, libraries, classrooms and more.

Engage with TAU Students and Staff – TAU’s faculty and alumni will be present to conduct interactive sessions with participants on the learning opportunities and educational pathways available at Texila. Prospective students will be able to ask questions and engage with the Texila community to gain greater insight into the university’s programs and campus culture.

Interact with Potential Employers – Attendees will be able to engage with key personnel from several companies, recruitment agencies, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. TAU’s partners will be on-site to provide information on employment and internship opportunities available in various sectors.

Career Counselling – Attendees will have access to one-on-one career counselling provided by qualified Career Counsellors. TAU’s expert counsellors will be available for the duration of the event to provide guidance for career development and the educational pathways required to reach specific career goals.

Texila’s Career Day-Open House will also include yoga sessions, live entertainment, science exhibitions and product displays. Further, Texila has collaborated with the Ministry of Health to host a Covid-19 vaccination drive during the event.
