A car owned by a Lightown, East Bank Berbice man suddenly became engulfed in flames Saturday, August 28, at about 15:00 hrs.
Suraj Shivraj, 40, is estimating his losses at about $300,000.
Shivraj said he sensed a burning odour emanating from the dashboard and tried to get it checked at a mechanic shop but the car burst into flames.
The fire service was contacted and ranks extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported.
