But, the Health Minister emphasised, “Almost every ward in Georgetown, we have cases that are active.” And, while providing the number of cases in Georgetown, he commented: “That’s quite a lot.”
Meanwhile, he also revealed that there are still a few hotspots across Guyana. In Region Three (Essequibo Islands- West Demerara) there are 35 cases in Tuschen and 23 in La Parfaite Harmonie.
Along the East Bank of Demerara (EBD), there are 50 active cases in Diamond, 44 in Grove and 28 in Timehri. While on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD), there are 28 cases in Better Hope, 22 in Enmore and 21 in Mahaica.

Meanwhile, he said that some 311,539 adults (or 60.7 per cent of the targeted adult population) have received at least their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 160,649 people (or 31.3 per cent) have received both first and second doses.
