The partially decomposed body of a man was found floating in the Demerara River at about 09:00hrs on Sunday
Residents of Hooradia – a community along the Demerara River – discovered the body and alerted the authorities. Residents observed that the man’s right arm, chest, and entire face were disfigured; the body was found clad in a white t-shirt, black and green short pants, and white sneakers.
Regional Commander (ag) Senior Superintendent Mahendra Sewnarine told the News Room that the cause of death will be determined by an autopsy later today; he said no marks were violence were observed on the body, which is yet to be identified.
