Guyana’s lone competitor at the ongoing Paralympic Games in Tokyo, cyclist Water Grant-Stuart, finished 13th in the Men’s C-5 time trial today.
Grant-Stuart clocked one hour, four minutes, and 17.69 seconds (1:04:17.69) in the 32km race which was won by 2016 Road Race winner, Daniel Abraham-Gebru of the Netherlands.
The Dutchman won gold with a time of 42:46.45s while silver went to the 2016 time trial gold medallist, Yehor Dementyev of Ukraine, who clocked (43:19.11). Third place went to Australia’s Alistair Donohoe (43:36.80).
The Guyanese who is the country’s first representative at Paralympic Games which commenced in 1960, will be back on the track September 3 when he competes in the Men’s C 4-5 Road Race at 08:00h (Guyana Time)
