Police in Linden are on the hunt for a lone gunman who attacked and robbed four Cuban nationals – one doctor and three contractors – on Tuesday night in Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie Linden

Police Headquarters revealed that the 50-year-old male doctor was at the residence of the three others imbibing with the door opened when the robbery occurred at around 23:00hrs; they were robbed of a gold wedding band valued at $100,000; a Samsung Galaxy A 57 valued at $77,000 and a total of $32,000 in cash.

It is alleged that the doctor went to use the washroom when he heard a loud explosion like a gunshot. Thereafter, the lights in the house went off.

Upon making checks, the doctor was confronted by the suspect at gunpoint who relieved him of his valuables and then ordered him to lay on the floor with his face facing downwards, next to the other victims.

Thereafter, the suspect began to ransack the entire house while demanding cash and jewelry. After about an hour, the suspect escaped on foot in a southern direction.

One of the Cuban nationals claimed that when the suspect discharged the round, he was in close proximity which caused the bullet to graze his forehead, and so he received a small abrasion.

He was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was treated and sent away. Police investigations are ongoing.
