8 more die from COVID; 113 of 181 new cases recorded in Reg. 4

Eight more persons who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday; seven of them died on Wednesday and the eighth died on Tuesday.

This takes the total number of deaths since March 2020 to 632; the additional eight persons died while being treated at a medical facility.

The latest deaths are listed below:

Meanwhile, 181 new COVID-19 infections were recorded from 1, 404 tests; Region Four accounted for the majority of the cases with 113. The other new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region Two (four new cases), Region Three (27 new cases), Region Five (six new cases), Region Six (three new cases), Region Seven (20 new cases), Region Eight (three new cases), Region Nine (one new case) and Region Ten (four new cases).

The total number of cases now stands at 25, 951. A total of 142 new recoveries were also recorded taking the overall number of recoveries to 23, 338.

There are 33 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 116 patients are in home isolation and 1, 832 are isolated in their homes.
