Air Services aircraft suffers puncture with 12 passengers on board

The right side tyre of an Air Services Limited registered aircraft 8R-BKP was punctured during landing at the Port Kaituma Airstrip on Thursday.

Police said twelve passengers and cargo were aboard the aircraft when the incident occurred at about 08:20hrs. No injuries or further damages were reported.

According to the police, the tyre punctured when the aircraft landed and came to a complete stop on the runway. The pilot and ranks from the Guyana Police Force examined the aircraft and confirmed the puncture.

Residents in the area followed instructions from the pilot managed to push the aircraft at the corner of the runway.
