Grant-Stuart’s journey comes to an end at Paralympic Games

A valiant effort by Guyanese cyclist, Walter Grant-Stuart, at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo,  has come to an end after he finished 18th in Men’s C4-5 Road Race.

Grant-Stuart, who is a fireman by profession, was Guyana’s only representative at the Games.

France’s Kevin Le Cunff clocked two hours, 14.49 seconds (2:14:49) to win the 92.4Km race at the Fuji International Speedway.

The Time Trial’s silver medallist, Yehor Dementyev of Ukraine’s clocked 2:15:11 while Daniel Abraham-Gebru, who won gold in the time trial, copped bronze with a time of 2:15:20.

In the Men’s C-5 Time Trial, Grant-Stuart clocked one hour, four minutes, and 17.69 seconds (1:04:17.69) in the 32km race where he finished 13th.
