The Rotary Club of Georgetown, received from Arla Foods, through their local distributor DeSinco Limited, 100 cases or 4,800 packets of Milex Hi & Lo Reduced Fat Powdered Milk (125g) to aid in their efforts of assisting flood affected residents across Guyana.
This donation was made possible through Arla Foods Sustainability Platform for Stronger Planet – Stronger People which focuses on providing healthy, affordable food options using long-term sustainable production practices for a healthier planet Earth.
Ms. Piggott further stated, Milex Hi & Lo is one of the four varieties of high-quality milk products available from Arla foods. It is a healthy milk source for all ages from one (1) year and older as it is high in calcium to promote strong bones and teeth and low in fat to promote healthy weight gain.
Milex from Arla Foods and DeSinco Limited would like to thank Rotary Georgetown for helping in their sustainability activity efforts by helping to provide quality food to persons in Guyana.
The Club made several donations to some orphanages and homes across the country over the past weeks. Some of the beneficiaries included; Joshua Children’s Centre, Red Cross Convalescent Home, St. Ann’s Orphanage, Shaheed Girl’s & Boy’s Orphanages, Ruimveldt Children’s Home, Sophia Care Centre, Bal Niva Shelter, Hope Children’s Centre, Cornelia Ida Children’s Home, St. Thomas Moore Men’s Home, St.Vincine Depaul Home, New Najach Home, St. Paul Catholic, Dharam Shala, The Night Shelter, The Palms Regabilitation Centre, Camal Homes for Battered Women & Children, Canaan Full Gospel Children’s Home among others.
