Three children among those injured in Essequibo accident

Three children were injured after a motorcyclist collided with a minibus before crashing into them along the Danielston Public Road along the Essequibo Coast on Saturday night.

Siblings Collin Carr, 16 and Keandre Carr, 11 suffered a broken hip and a fractured right foot while 14-year-old Kemoll Kishore received lacerations about his body.

The children are being treated at the Suddie Public Hospital along with the motorcycle rider Dellon Marks, 22 of Queenstown, Essequibo who was also injured.

Police Headquarters reported that the accident occurred at about 20:51hrs.

According to reports, Marks was proceeding south when he crashed into the minibus being driven by Chandrika Mohabir, 43, of Sparta, Essequibo Coast.

Police said the motorcycle collided with the front right side of the minibus before crashing into the children who were standing on the western parapet.

The driver of the minibus is in custody assisting with the investigations
