The Bartica Football Association (BFA) launched its Academy Training Centre over the weekend, in the presence of Guyana Football Federation (GFF) President, Wayne Forde.

According to a post on the GFF’s official Facebook page, the academy is part of the ground-breaking, nationwide youth development system funded by the GFF, under the Members Financial Assistance Programme (M-FAP), and delivered by its regional associations.

The system provides professional coaching to girls and boys under the GFF’s national playing philosophy and acts as a pathway into club and international football.

“M-FAP delivers all the required resources to every category of membership of the GFF,” Forde told young players and attendees at the opening ceremony.

“The BFA is receiving all the support it needs to promote and grow the game within this community”, he added.

According to Forde, the academy will provide opportunities for talent discovery, noting it is an “opportunity of a lifetime”.
