Ramdhani siblings back on track in Canada

Guyana’s most decorated Badminton players, siblings Narayan Ramdhani and Priyanna Ramdhani are back on the international stage after a few Months in Guyana on vacation from University where they are on scholarships in Canada.

According to a release, while in Guyana, both won the National Badminton tournament, conducted the Shuttle Time programme in two Schools in Linden and Berbice, Air Badminton at the University of Guyana and the Nexgen Golf Academy in Georgetown.

They also assisted the local players to get their gameplay to a higher standard.

Priyanna was then selected by the Pan American Badminton Federation to attend a High-Level Camp in Aguascalientes, Mexico from August 23 – 31.

Both Narayan and Priyanna then attended their first International tournament to start off their Olympics Dream- Mexican International Challenge 2021 in Aguascalientes from September 1-5.

At the event, they both played at a very high level and gained higher rankings points in their quest to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Currently, Narayan is ranked 31 in the Pan-Am singles while  Priyana is 39th; in the doubles, they are ranked 24th.

The siblings are now preparing for the ACAC & CCAA Championships in Canada where they both were finalists at the Provincials and 4th place at Nationals.

The release further stated the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) expressed thanks to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Guyana Olympic Association, New Amsterdam Badminton Club for assisting the duo to attend high-level training programmes and international tournaments.
