The Ministry of Health on Friday reported that 10 more people died from COVID-19, taking the country’s death toll since March 2020 to 669.
The latest fatalities include seven women and three men and also mean that for the month of September thus far, 44 persons have died.
Five patients died on September 10, while the others died between September 7 and 9.
Meanwhile, 218 new cases were recorded from 2, 043 tests, taking the overall number of confirmed cases to 27, 519. Region Four, which has seen an increase in positive cases, recorded 123 new cases.
The other cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (two new cases), Region Two (31 cases), Region Three (34 cases), Region Five (11 cases), Region Six (three cases), Region Seven (four cases), Region Nine (five cases) and Region Ten (five cases).
There are 30 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital; 143 patients are in institutional isolation and 2, 624 are in home isolation.
Recently, more beds were added to the ICU at the Infectious Diseases Hospital which now has a capacity for 38 patients.
Additionally, to date, 23, 974 persons recovered from the virus.
