Demerara Mutual and Demerara Fire and General have joined forces with the Lusignan Golf Club to host tournament on Saturday from 12:30h.
The tournament is called “I am with Dem” golf tournament. Staff from the insurance company is also expected to attend and share the ambiance of the COVID-19 compliant sport.
The partnership is ongoing for a decade, and according to a company rep they seek to support unpopular activities.
The format will be 18 holes which will be divided into front nine and back, for which prizes will be awarded to the net score for both divisions.
There will be an overall prize due to the combination of front and back nine for first, second and third; in all six prizes will be up for grabs. It will be a shot-gun start as players will start at various points of the course to alleviate congestion at the start.
The tournament is expected to help player harness their skills for the upcoming Guyana Open Golf tournament from October 30 – 31.
