Pomeroon man dies after crashing boat into tree

Royle Sandy, a 22-year-old man from Pomeroon tragically lost his life Sunday afternoon after he allegedly lost control of his wooden boat and crashed into a tree.

The accident occurred around 12:30hrs in the vicinity of Dredge Creek Upper Pomeroon River. The News Room understands that the man was under the influence of alcohol and was speeding at the time of the accident.

Reports indicate that he sustained severe injuries to his body particularly his face. He was rushed to the Charity Oscar Hospital by public-spirited persons where he was pronounced dead.

The body is at the Suddie Mortuary awaiting identification.
