Rotary Club of Demerara turns to Yoga

In an effort to raise funds to continue upcoming charitable work in Guyana, the Rotary Club of Demerara recently held a ‘Let’s Yoga with Tracy Smith’ event at the Everest Cricket Club, where they managed to sell over 100 tickets. A ticket was priced at $3,000.

A release from the club explained that apart from the club seeking to raise funds, the event was held in cognisance to the challenging time faced by the COVID-19 pandemic and mental struggles some persons face. As such Yoga has proven to be a calming remedy to assist in that regard.
The release further indicated that the funds raised from this event will be directed to our Club’s charitable work throughout Guyana.

The club expressed thanks to their faithful Rotarians, friends of Rotary, Yoga instructor Smith along with sponsors ANSA McAL Trading Limited, Everest CC, Star Party Rentals, Bounty  Supermarkets, Windjammer, Digicel, Shaws, Ignite Designs, and RC Imports.

On October 10, the club is hoping to execute another expansive medical outreach in the village of Malali – an Amerindian community in Region 10 (Upper Demerara/Berbice), approximately 45 miles from Linden, which was severely hit by the recent floods.
