GPHC boosted with additional ventilators, PPE

Mr Joe Persaud who resides in Florida, U.S.A recently donated 17 ventilators, 1500 face masks, and 10 buckets of disinfecting wipes to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

The donations were presented to the Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier (ret’d) George Lewis by Mr. Inderjeet Persaud who noted that the donations are intended to treat patients with COVID-19 as we see an startling increase in local cases. Mr. Persaud further stated that through a series of donations, they are seeking to create social impact wherever it is possible.

Mr. Lewis expressed sincere gratitude to for the kind and timely donation on behalf of the Minister of Health, the Board of Directors, Administration, and Staff of the hospital. The CEO applauded the selfless efforts of Mr. Persaud, stating that the donation is convenient and will help the hospital to ‘provide better care to the Guyanese populace, particularly at this time’.

“We know that Covid-19 is causing havoc around the world and we believe that one day, not too long from now, we can ease the spreading and subsequently stop it in good time”, Mr Inderjeet Persaud started. Mr Persaud believes that each person has his/her part to play when it comes to serving humanity. This donation follows a series of others made by Mr. Persaud in his quest to contribute to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Joe, from an early age decided that the best way to fulfil his life’s purpose is through service to humanity”, said Mr. Inderjeet Persaud. They hope that the items will never be put to use only if there’s a need to do so. They have pledged their continued support towards the GPHC and other healthcare facilities.
