A 51-year-old man and his 42-year-year-old wife are both dead following tragic circumstances in which the husband tried to save the wife who fell into a septic tank at Timehri, East Bank Demerara.
The woman has been identified as Camille Dwarka while the husband has been identified as Ramlall Madhoo of Hyde Park, Timehri.
The Guyana Police Force in a statement said the tragic incident occurred on Wednesday last.
According to the police report, Dwarka’s niece heard her screaming and when she checked she saw the woman had fallen into the septic tank.
The niece then notified Ramlall and he jumped to his wife’s rescue.
“The niece went and looked into the septic tank and noticed both bodies were motionless,” the police reported.
The bodies were pulled out by undertakers of a funeral parlour.
The bodies are both presently lying at Memorial Funeral Home awaiting a post mortem examination.
