Dutch National remanded for trafficking $5M worth of ecstasy pills

Dutch National Dwight Garconious was on Friday remanded to prison by City Magistrate Rhondel Weever for his involvement in the trafficking of $5M worth of ecstasy pills.

Garconious of Holland, Netherlands denied the two charges which alleged that on Wednesday, September 15, he aided in the trafficking and possession of 1.262 kilograms of methylenedioxy-methamphetamine.

He was remanded to prison until October 15.

According to reports, ranks from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) seized some 3, 097ecstasy pills which were found concealed in two cornflake boxes during operations conducted in Corentyne, Berbice, and Georgetown on Wednesday.

The drug reportedly carries a street value of $5M.

Three men and a woman were also arrested during the operation.
