Two women, a 63-year-old and 58-year-old, were Friday night robbed by two unidentifiable males on a trip motorcycle, police said.
One of the men was reportedly armed with a handgun.
The women were relieved of their handbags which together contained $45, 000 in cash.
According to a statement from Police Headquarters, the women were walking along Austin Street, Campbellville around 20:05hrs when the suspects rode up on the motorcycle and stopped in front of them.
The pillion rider then dismounted and pointed the handgun at the victims and said, “don’t say a word, give me de bags.”
The suspect then relieved the victims of the articles and made good their escape.
No shots were fired.
