The Guyana Lottery Company will put its stamp on the jerseys of the Linden Bauxite Flyers Cycling Club for the 2022-23 season.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Lottery Company’s Lamaha Street Headquarters in Georgetown, Rawle Toney, Let’s Bet Sports Brand Ambassador, said it is another step in their quest to support every sport in Guyana.
Toney said they will be the main jersey sponsor for the club in the new season as sport plays a vital part in most person’s lives in the community of Linden.
He explained the club has a strong nursery and has produced some quality cyclists in recent years, which continues a strong tradition in Linden, which has also produced numerous Olympians.
Jeffrey Yearwood, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer of the club, expressed thanks for the support in branding and stated it will aid significantly as they look to strengthen their nursery.
Yearwood revealed they are hoping they can partner with the Region 10 Tourism Committee to host an event for Tourism Awareness Month in November. That of course would have to receive the support and approval of the Guyana Cycling Federation and the COVD-19 Task Force.
Cycling events were held in the Mining Town earlier this year, but primarily for Lindeners.
The Lottery Company did a similar gesture with Olympian and Table Tennis player, Chelsea Edghill, where she secured a one-year sponsorship deal prior to the Tokyo Games earlier this year.
