Competitive golf action will continue at the Lusignan Golf Course on Saturday (September 25, 2021) as local golfers gear up to compete in the Farm Supplies Limited (FarmSup) tournament.
Action in the 18-hole Medal Play competition will tee off at 12:30h with a shotgun start. Interested players have until noon on Friday (September 24) to register through the Lusignan Golf Club on 220-5660.
The first-place winner will cart off a trophy plus a $5000 voucher; second place a trophy plus a $4000 voucher, and third place a trophy plus a $3000 voucher.
In terms of other prizes, for the best net front nine (trophy plus $1500 voucher); best net back nine (trophy plus $1500 voucher); and nearest to the flag (trophy plus $1000 voucher).
The Lusignan Golf Club has noted that players who participate in tournaments from September 18 to October 25 will be eligible for consideration for free entry as a player into the Guyana Open Tournament via a competition format.
The points for free entry will be for the first 10 best net scores for each tournament; also, points will be awarded to the top five players for the day based on their net scores.
The player who accumulates the most points at the end of the exercise will be declared the winner and can participate in the Guyana Open without having to pay the tournament fee.
All participants are advised to contact the club’s manager on the day of the tournament to collect their score cards, pay the tournament fees, and proceed to their allocated tee boxes to tee off at 12:30h.
