Four more die from COVID; 258 new cases recorded

Four more persons – three men and one woman – died from COVID-19 between September 19 and 23, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.

The latest fatalities take the total number of deaths since March 2020 to 744; it also means that 119 people have died for the month of September thus far; September continues to record the highest number of deaths in a single month since March 2020.

The ministry revealed that two of the men were unvaccinated while the other was fully vaccinated and the woman partially vaccinated. All four patients died while receiving medical care.

The details on the four persons are as follows

 

Meanwhile, a total of 258 new infections were recorded from 2, 062 tests, taking the total number of confirmed cases to date to 30, 444.

The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (eight cases), Region Two (13 cases), Region Three (67 cases), Region Four (151 cases), Region Five (eight cases), Region Six (six cases), Region Seven (three cases) and Region Ten (two cases).

There are 37 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 171 patients are in institutional isolation and 3, 644 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 25, 848 persons have recovered from the virus.
