Volleyball: Seniors beat U-23s to level series and set up decider
The Senior National Volleyball team pipped the National Under-23 unit last Friday night to claim Game Four of the best-of-five series game in five sets at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Their victory levels the series 2-2.
The Under-23 team won the first set 24-23, while the second and third sets were claimed by the seniors 25-22, 25-19 respectively. The Under-23s came back bouncing in the fourth set to win it 25-19.
With scores level, the seniors then went on to close out the game with a 17-15 success.
Vance Harding scored a game-high 19 points for the senior national team, with Quacy Matheson and Trevon McRae scoring 16 and 12 respectively. For the Under-23s, Tyrone Farley (16), Kristoff Shepherd (14) and Ronaldo Bobb (12) were the leading scorers.
The deciding fifth game is slated for October 15 at the same venue.
