Man, 29, dies after collapsing at home
A 29-year-old Joiner of #72 Village, Upper Corentyne, Berbice is now dead after reportedly falling and hitting his head at his house on Sunday night.
Dead is Lakhram Dhurup; his sister-in-law Eshwarie Chetram told the News Room that the incident occurred at approximately 21:00hrs.
She disclosed that she lives in a house in the said yard with Dhurup and his girlfriend, and on the night in question, the young man was at a nearby shop consuming alcohol with friends.
According to Chetram, she and the girlfriend were watching TV when they discovered Dhurup lying motionless outside the door.
She said they tried to revive him using alcohol but “he was blowing” heavily and there was a visible bump on his head. They subsequently took him to the Skeldon Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Dhurup was expected to get married a few weeks from now.
