Man, 36, among 10 new ‘COVID’ deaths; 88 new infections recorded

A 36-year-old man from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica), who was unvaccinated, is among the 10 latest COVID-19 deaths recorded in September. This man died on Sunday.

As such, 147 deaths have already been recorded this month, while a total of 772 COVID-19 deaths have been recorded since March, 2020.

Meanwhile, another 88 people were infected with the coronavirus over a 24-hour period, taking the total number of cases recorded since March 2020 to 31, 236.

These new infections were recorded in: Region Two (two cases), Region Three (17 cases), Region Four (48 cases), Region Six (five cases), Region Seven (13 cases) and Region 10 (three cases).

Additionally, there are 30 patients receiving critical care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU); 134 people are in institutional isolation; 3,743 are in home isolation and six people are in institutional quarantine.

Importantly, to date, 26,557 people who were infected with COVID-19 have recovered.
