Plumber busted with 200 grams of cannabis
A 31-year-old plumber identified as Rodwell Taylor was arrested by officers of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) on Monday after he was allegedly caught with 200 grams of cannabis.
A statement from CANU noted that the incident occurred at Lot 43-44 Prince William Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara.
According to CANU, the officers were conducting operations at the location when they observed Taylor with a bulky black plastic bag standing in front of a two-storey building. When he saw the officers, Taylor attempted to escape and ran into the lower flat of the building and exited the back door leaving a trail of small Ziploc packets containing cannabis, the CANU release noted.
When he was caught, the man threw the plastic bag over the fence. CANU revealed that when weighed, the cannabis amounted to a total of 200 grams.
