Police are on the hunt for four bandits who beat and robbed a pump attendant and three customers on Thursday night at the Chico Ramos gas station at Coldingen, East Coast Demerara.

A police report noted that the four bandits – all armed with guns – pounded on the 37-year-old employee at around 20:35hrs and robbed him of $50,000 in cash.

The three customers had stopped in a truck to get diesel and were inside the mini-mart making a purchase when the incident occurred.

They have been identified as a 50-year-old male who was robbed of $75,000 in cash, a BLU cell phone valued at $25,000 and one grey A95 Samsung Galaxy smart phone valued at $35,000; a 29-year-old male who was robbed of an IPhone 12 Pro Max valued at $300,000, a Bluetooth headset valued at $50,000, $50,000 in cash and a wallet containing national identification card and driver’s license along with a 23-year-old male.

Police said that while the customers were inside the mini-mart, they observed the motor lorry was turned off and so, they immediately walked back to the eastern side of the gas station when the bandits attacked them and beat them with the gun.

The bandits went into the cabin of the lorry and removed the items mentioned above.
Police said the suspects escaped in a silver car which was parked about 50 feet away from the service station.

“The victims made a report to the Vigilance Police Station via telephone but were unable to identify the suspects because the area was dark. Investigation in progress,” police said.
