The 70-mile race, which started at Fyrish, proceeded to Springlands Police Station and returned to the start point for the finish, was held in memory of Benjamin, who was a cyclist, businessman, philanthropist and role model.

Benjamin, the owner of Benjamin Sports and Fitness Centre of Fyrish Village, Corentyne, Berbice, was involved in an accident while training on the public road and succumbed to head injuries he sustained.
