Police have arrested two men – a 26-year-old and a 38-year-old – for allegedly stealing two truck batteries valued at $70,000.
The incident occurred sometime between 20:30hrs on Monday and 06:00hrs on Tuesday at Goed Intent, West Bank Demerara Police Headquarters reported.
Police said truck GZZ 1756 is owned by a 36-year-old businessman, who on Monday night, parked the truck in front of his house with everything intact.
However, at about 06:00hrs on Tuesday, he was leaving for work when he discovered the batteries missing.
“Following police investigations, the two suspects were detained for questioning and both remain in custody as investigations continue,” Police reported.
