The Badminton fraternity was plunged into mourning on Friday evening, following the passing of president of the Guyana Badminton Association, Gokarn Ramdhani.
Ramdhani, who was also the long-serving national coach, suffered a massive heart attack in Canada, where he was residing with his children- national and Caribbean badminton champions Narayan and Priyanna- who are on scholarship.
The former national player would have turned 56 in December.
Ramdhani was a Council Member of the Guyana Olympic Association and the Caribbean Regional Badminton Confederation, the Second Vice-President of the Confederation of Central American and Caribbean Badminton, Owner/Head Coach of Yonex Badminton Club and Head Coach of Olds College in Canada.
