Police arrest two after ganja found in bedroom

Police on Tuesday arrested two males, ages 19 and 25, at Betsy Ground, East Canje, Berbice after a quantity of marijuana was found in a bedroom.

In a statement on Wednesday, the police said the ganja amounted to 178 grams.

Ranks were acting on information when they conducted a search at the location in the presence of the suspects.

In their bedroom, a black bulky plastic bag was found hanging from a nail; the bag contained a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.

As a result, both suspects were told of the offence, cautioned, arrested and taken to the Central Police Station along with the suspected cannabis.

The suspects were placed into custody assisting with investigations.
