There was an increased pass rate recorded in the subjects of English and Social Studies among the 13, 821 pupils who wrote the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) in August of this year.
This was announced by the Director of Operations at CXC Dr. Nicole Manning, who presented the 2021 Examination report Friday morning at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre in Liliendaal, Georgetown.
English recorded the highest pass rate with 65.71 per cent of the pupils passing; some 56.3 per cent of students passed Social Studies. These subjects have recorded the highest pass rates over the past five years
Meanwhile, the pass rates for Mathematics and Science decreased. In Mathematics there was a 36.5 per cent pass rate while Science had a 40.12 per cent pass rate.
