Trevor Albert, a 49-year-old pedestrian, was injured in a hit and run incident at the Anna Catherina Public Road on the West Coast of Demerara (WCD) at around 18:20 hrs on Monday.
According to a police report, an unknown motor vehicle was proceeding west along the southern side of the road when it stuck Albert on the southern carriageway and drove away.
As a result of that collision, Albert received injuries to his head and body; he was picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited persons and taken to Leonora Cottage Hospital. He was later transferred to West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was further examined and admitted in a stable condition.
Police said that investigations are ongoing.
