A 39-year-old mechanic of Culvert City Central Rupununi, Region Nine is in police custody after he was caught driving a stolen Montana Conquest motorcar (NAW 2497) on Monday.
Police Headquarters revealed that the suspect was caught driving the car along the Moco Moco Road, Central Rupununi by a party of policemen.
When questioned about the car, the mechanic claimed that he bought it from a ‘Linden Fordyce called Burham of Tabatinga, Central Rupununi’, for $120,000 over a year ago.
He was arrested and placed into custody and the car was lodged at Lethem Police Station while checks are being made for the alleged seller.
