Man, 91, dies from COVID; 90 new cases recorded
October’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 96 with the addition of another death recorded on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health.
The latest victim is a 91-year-old man of Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) who was fully vaccinated against the dreaded disease.
Guyana’s overall death toll is now 895.
Meanwhile, 90 new infections were recorded after 1,136 PCR tests were conducted.
This puts the country’s total number of infections at 35,067.
These new cases were recorded in: Region One (eight cases), Region Two (three cases), Region Three (three cases), Region Four (24 cases), Region Five (six cases), Region Six (35 cases), Region Seven (three cases), Region Eight (five cases) and Region 10 (three cases).
There are also 19 patients receiving care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 102 people are in institutional isolation, 3,451 people are in home isolation and six people are in institutional quarantine.
Meanwhile, a total of 30,600 people have recovered after they were infected with COVID-19.
