Forty-eight-year-old Carl Cameron, a vendor of Charlestown, Georgetown, was stabbed to death by a 30-year-old man who accused him of posting a photo with him (the suspect) and the suspect’s girlfriend on social media.
Police Headquarters, in a statement, said one week ago the suspect accused Cameron of posting the intimate photo with his girlfriend.
Cameron was attacked by the suspect at about 18:00hrs on Sunday.
Police said the vendor was in front of his yard selling confectioneries when the suspect approached him and pointed an object, suspected to be an ice-pick, and stabbed Cameron five times, three times to his chest and twice to the back.
After Cameron fell on the ground, the suspect escaped. Cameron was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigations are ongoing.
