Guyana reaches 900 COVID deaths
The Ministry of Health on Wednesday reported that a 64-year-old man from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) is the country’s latest COVID-19 death.
The unvaccinated man died on October 27, 2021.
With this new death, the death toll for October has increased to 101 while a total of 900 deaths have been recorded since March 11, 2020.
Meanwhile, a total of 82 new infections have been recorded over a 24-hour period taking the overall number of confirmed cases to 35,252.
The new cases were recorded in Region One (five cases) Region Two (three cases), Region Three (nine cases), Region Four (34 cases), Region Five (three cases), Region Six (17 cases), Region Eight (two cases) Region Nine (two cases) and Region Ten (seven cases).
Additionally, there are 25 patients receiving treatment in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 73 individuals are in institutional isolation, 2, 926 people are in home isolation and five people are in institutional quarantine.
Importantly, a total of 31,328 people have recovered after they were infected with COVID-19.
