Twenty-two-year old Ralph Rodrigues was on Thursday remanded to prison for the attempted murder of his brother, Raul Rodrigues, 29, a Police Constable attached to the Central Police Station in Region Six.
Ralph of West Canefield East Canje Berbice, appeared before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh at the Reliance Magistrate’s Court where the indictable charge was read to him and he was not required to enter a plea.
He was remanded to the New Amsterdam Prison until November 10, 2021. The News Room had reported Raul is in the intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the New Amsterdam Hospital after he was brutally stabbed and beaten by his brothers.
Raul had a misunderstanding with his 22-year-old brother on Monday at about 18:00hrs at Canefield Settlement, East Canje, Berbice.
The Guyana Police Force, in a statement, said the brother managed to arm himself with a knife and stabbed Raul several times to the abdomen and right leg.
