A 19-year-old man is on the run after he went into the room of a 15-year-old, who is his relative, and allegedly intended to commit a sexual offence early Sunday morning in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).
According to a police report, the girl was awakened by someone choking her at around 03:00 hrs on Sunday. She saw that it was the male relative and a scuffle ensued which awakened other persons in the household.
When the other persons were awakened, however, the man reportedly fled the scene. The matter was reported to the police and an investigation is underway.
