Parika man murdered during argument with friends
Police are on the hunt for four men who murdered their friend Trevor Allen of Parika Façade, East Bank Essequibo at about 20:50hrs on Sunday.
Allen and his two brothers were drinking at a shop in the area when he got into a heated argument with one of the suspects, the police reported.
The suspect reportedly held onto Allen and cuffed him to the face; after they started fighting, the three other suspects arrived armed with a cutlass and knives and attacked Allen. Police said he was stabbed five times to the abdomen and chopped once to the forehead.
One of Allen’s brothers, Harvey tried to save him but he too was chopped to the back and sought refuge in a nearby canal; there, he watched as his brother was viciously attacked.
Police said while Harvey tried to raise an alarm about what was happening, the suspects pelted bricks in his direction. By the time the police arrived, the suspects already escaped on foot in different directions.
Allen’s body was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The body was later transported to the Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting an autopsy.
Investigations are ongoing.
