100-Y-0 woman among 2 COVID deaths; 129 new cases recorded

November’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to four after two more people died on November 03 and 04, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.

The latest fatalities are two unvaccinated women – ages 68 and 100 – who hailed from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) and Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) respectively.

The country’s overall death toll now stands at 930 since March 2020.

Meanwhile, 129 new COVID-19 cases were recorded from 1, 013 tests. This means that a total of 35, 929 people tested positive for the virus thus far.

The new cases were recorded in Region One (one case), Region Two (six cases), Region Three (29 cases), Region Four (37 cases), Region Five (one case), Region Six (22 cases), Region Seven (five cases), Region Nine (four cases) and Region Ten (24 cases).

There are 19 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital; 56 patients are in institutional isolation and 2, 552 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 32, 372 persons have recovered from the virus.
