Essequibo man stabbed to death during row over money
Police are on the hunt for the main suspect in the murder of 38-year-old Andre Collison known as ‘DJ Choppy’ who was stabbed to death just after midnight on Thursday.
Police Headquarters revealed that the incident occurred at around 01:30hrs on Friday at Puruni Landing, Middle Mazaruni in Region Seven.
According to the police, Collison of Bartica, Essequibo River, left his room in search of food and went to ‘Two Blessed Sisters Restaurant’ and made an order; while waiting for the food, the suspect entered and an argument ensued about monies owed.
“The argument became heated and the suspect drew a knife from his pants waist and stabbed the victim to his abdomen and thereafter made good his escape,” the police report noted.
Collison was rushed to the Puruni health post where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. Police are searching for the suspect.
