London, Harry excel at MACORP golf tourney
A week after claiming her second Guyana Open title, Shanella London emerged champion of the female segment of the MACORP Invitational golf tournament on Saturday at the Lusignan Golf Course.
London, who has been on a steady rise on the golf course, copped top honours with Gross 79 and Net 71, winning ahead of the experienced Christine Sukhram, who returned Gross 83, Net 72.
Eureka Giddings took third with Gross 101, Net 75.
In the Men’s 0-9 handicap, Ravendra Harry was the top golfer with Gross 78, Net 70, followed by Rakesh Harry (Gross 80, Net 71) and Jaipaul Sukhnanan (Gross 80, Net 72).
Videsh Persaud (Gross 85, Net 68) was the top performer in the Men’s 10-18, with Mike Guyadin (Gross 78, Net 68) and Anand Persaud (Gross 87, Net 69) rounding off the top podium finishers in that order.
In the Men’s 19-28, Rohan Albert won with Gross 95, Net 71, while Wayne Chan (Gross 100, Net 72) and Brian Hackett (Gross 91, Net 72) took second and third respectively.
Kassim Khan had the Best Gross (77) of the day, while Videsh Persaud (68) copped the Best Net prize.
