Woman, 58, dies from COVID; 101 new cases recorded
A 58-year-old woman from Region Six (East Berbice- Corentyne) died on November 6 after she was infected with the disease COVID-19.
According to the Ministry of Health, the woman was fully vaccinated. Guyana’s death toll now stands at 942 since March 11, 2020; 16 of those deaths have been recorded in November.
Meanwhile, a total of 101 individuals became infected with the virus over a 24-hour period. These new cases were recorded after 1,950 tests were conducted. This means that the overall number of confirmed cases in Guyana has increased to 36,180.
These new cases were recorded in: Region Two (eight new cases), Region Three (19 cases), Region Four (53 cases), Region Five (five cases), Region Six (13 cases), Region Eight (two cases) and Region 10 (one case).
There are also 11 patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 73 people are in institutional isolation, six people are in institutional quarantine and 2,562 people are in home isolation.
Importantly, a total of 32,592 people have recovered after they were infected with COVID-19.
