Dottin, Matthews drive West Indies Women to opening win over Pakistan

A magnificent second ODI ton from Deandra Dottin and a brilliant all-round effort from Hayley Matthews gave West Indies Women a 45-run victory over Pakistan Women in the opening game of their three-match series in Karachi on Monday.

Opener Dottin cracked 132 from 146 balls to lead West Indies to a solid 253-8 after Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first.

The Barbados right-hander struck 18 fours and two sixes in her innings, and received solid support from Matthews, who made 57 off 67 balls and Guyanese Shemaine Campbelle with 23 off 20.

Bowling for Pakistan Women, left-arm spinner Anam Amin took 5-35 off her 10 overs.

In reply, Pakistan Women made 208-9 off their 50 overs with Aliya Riaz (46), Iram Javed (40) and Muneeba Ali (28) being the leading scorers.

Bowling for West Indies, off-spinner Matthews took 3-31 and fast bowler Shakera Selman 2-35.

Game two of the series is on Thursday, with the final match on Sunday.
